How to Believe in Yourself (Even When It Feels Hard)

Believing in yourself isn’t just a mindset — it’s a practice.
It’s something you grow into, especially if you’ve spent years doubting your worth, hiding parts of yourself, or staying small to fit into a life that no longer feels aligned.

If you’re in a season of change — maybe leaving a career, starting your own business, or simply shedding who you used to be — self-belief becomes your foundation.

And the truth is?
You don’t have to wait until you feel confident to begin.

Here’s how to start believing in yourself — right now.


1. Acknowledge What’s No Longer True

The first step to self-belief is letting go of the lies.

Maybe you were told you’re “too sensitive,” “not good with money,” or “not cut out” for leadership or running your own business.
Maybe you picked up the belief that you need to earn your worth or prove yourself constantly, or that your worth is dependent on your achievements.

These aren’t truths — they could be conditioning (that you've picked up form others) or it could be your core wound, something that you are here to heal.

Take a moment to notice: Where did I learn to doubt myself or feel like I wasn't good enough?
Bring awareness to these old stories so you can begin to rewrite them.

2. Connect With Your Inner Wisdom

You have an inner voice — a deeper knowing — that’s always guiding you. But if you’re constantly in your head, overthinking or trying to get it ‘right,’ it’s hard to hear.

This is where practices like meditation, journaling, Human Design, or working with your energy can help you reconnect to you.

I am a big fan of creating space. Physical space like tidying out a draw of wardrobe that is cluttered but also creating time and space to think, read, journal, walk, ponder or feel.

Our ego voice speaks first and loudest, our soul voice is quieter and often needs space to be heard.

When you build a relationship with your intuition, you realise:
“I don’t need permission. I already know what’s right for me.”


3. Celebrate Evidence (Even the Tiny Wins)

Self-belief isn’t about waiting until you’ve done something “big.”
It’s built through consistent action — and then celebrating the proof that you’re showing up for yourself.

Start a “proof journal.”
Each day, write one thing you did that showed you were committed to yourself:
🌀 Set a boundary
🌀 Said yes to rest
🌀 Posted your offer
🌀 Reached out for support
🌀 Said “no” when you meant it

These are all acts of self-belief.


4. Stop Trying to Do It All Alone

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is ask for help.
Whether it’s support from your angels, your guides, or a trusted coach or friend — you don’t have to figure everything out by yourself - What Robert Holden refers to as dysfunctional independence!

Let yourself be supported. You’re not weak for needing it. You’re human.

Ask God, Holy Spirit, angels or Mother Mary, universe (or whatever you name is for higher power) to be with you, work through you guide you. I love this from a Course in Miracles

What would you have me do?

Where would you have me go?

What would you have me say and to whom?


5. Visualise the Version of You Who Already Believes

Close your eyes. Imagine the version of you who deeply believes in herself.
✨ How does she walk into a room?
✨ What choices does she make?

✨ What does she believe?
✨ How does she speak to herself?

Now ask: What would she do today?

Act as if — even in small ways. You don’t have to feel 100% ready. Show up from belief, and the confidence will follow.


Final Words

Believing in yourself isn’t about being fearless or perfect.
It’s about remembering who you truly are — beyond the noise, beyond the doubt, beyond the ego.

You were made for more.
You’re allowed to trust your desires.
And you already have everything you need inside you.

You’re not broken. You’re becoming.
